Painting Rockers

So I plasti dipped the rockers on my SR5 today just to see how it looked, and I loved it. So now I want to give them a legit paint job. Anyone ever paint these things before? I want to do it right, but it seems any time I do a paint job I screw it up. Just looking for a guide as to the proper steps. Thanks!

Cant you post pictures? I was looking st mine today and the AT tore them things up. Was going to paint them and add sliders/flares hoping to protect it a little better.
 
What year is your SR5? Since they are the same as the Trail starting in 14 hopefully it is cheap to paint as you could just get the black unpainted for less $300 from Camelback. Can you paint them yourself?
 
Sorry for the shitty pics, it started raining and I snapped these real quick. Ill get better ones tomorrow.

I have a 2012, damn $300 would have been nice, would have just slapped the unpainted ones on as is.
