Parking Brake Bypass?

Hey guys, Wondering if anyone knows how to bypass the parking brake so we can have a DVD playing without having to put the parking brake on.

This is for a Pioneer AVH-X5700BHS.

Thanks for your help!

On my 07 SR5, all I had to do was permanently ground the parking brake wire from the head unit. My head unit isn't the same as yours, but according to the 2003 EWD, our parking brake is wired such that when it is engaged, it simply connects to ground. If the Pioneer is set up with a positive trigger for the parking brake, you'll need to wire up a relay to get it to work.

I imagine the adapter that is linked is simply a modified relay with some instructions to make it slightly easier to install.

This diagram will show you what I am referring to (convert negative output (the parking brake) to positive output (what the head unit is expecting)):

How to Wire Relays - Convert a Negative Output to a Positive Output

Might be worth the $15 for the adapter though.

I have that exact model of Pioneer in my 2013. You need to purchase the part posted above in the previous comment. It takes 3 timed pulses to get the DVD player to activate. Grounding it out won't work.
