I just got a 2021 TRD Pro and noticed it doesn't have any parking sensors.
Is this an optional feature or do they not have parking sensors?

No they don't come with them, and no they are not even an option from Toyota. If you really want to have them you have to go aftermarket which can be a pain in the a$$!

OK, first, I'm 54yo. What I find funny is how important all automotive electronics are to younger people. Parking assist. Blindspot assist. Being able to see out your back window AND have a camera. And lets not get started on the whole audio/app/head unit discussion.
There is nothing like driving a vehicle for the sake of driving. When I was in my teens, climbing in my VW Bug and just getting out and away was amazing. Sure I had an Alpine deck and 8" subs, but that was truly it.
I get the idea of having all of these creature comforts, but for me, nothing will ever beat simplicity.

I think a lot of it has to do with the marketing departments saying you 'need' all this new tech. because let's face it, tech is cool and tech is important to many young people. you could argue that these driving assists are going to replace the awareness needed to operate a vehicle safely (why check blindspot when I have a sensor?)
unfortunately many people view them as replacements for thinking and awareness, which is where problems arise. distracted and impaired driving is an increasingly big problem in society and I blame the technology and lack of proper education for young drivers. just today a driver on their phone was on the wrong side of the road. If I had also been distracted we would have hit head on
rolling through stop signs, speeding through yellow lights, weaving through city traffic, speeding through school zones. I see it all the time. everyone is in a hurry to go no where. children especially can seemingly appear out of thin air. these people with no regard for anyone's safety are the same ones that cry like babies in court when they are handed multi year sentences for vehicular manslaughter and complain the justice system is unfair. they are right, it is unfair, the minimum sentences for these crimes are a joke...
I love my backup camera though, great for tight parking situations or if you ever need to hook up to a trailer

I'm with ya; I'm 58 lol and learned to drive in a 68 F-150 with a 3 speed on the column
But I really do like the back-up camera...and heated seats for these beat up old bones

So, that's another thing you don't have for your 60K.
Even the TRDORP's have turn signals in the mirrors.....
But, You'll be fine, you don't need parking sensors.

Three on the tree and four on the floor. I grew up with that as well! Lol
