Patience pays off - Official '05 SE Owner

I have been looking around for a 4Runner since June, and finally snatched one up today that was not already sold when I got to the dealer. I was looking to get an '06 Sport with less than 80k KM on it for less than $30,000, and today I came across an '05 with 74k, so I bought it. They just got it in a couple of days ago, and were not able to clean it or list it until next week. I will send some better quality pics when I pick it up on Wednesday (after the dealer cleans it up), but here is a shot from my iPhone.

I was surprised to see it in such good condition, as almost every 4runner I've seen showed a good amount of wear-and-tear. I will need to pick up a set of winter tires asap, and was wondering what works best on this? I will need a set of 17" steel rims, which I can pick up for about $50 a piece.

NIIIICE! I too was really patient when buying my 2005 Silver 4R Sport! :guitar2: You'll love it. Be careful of this site and who you meet though. I met this guy ric and couldn't stop modding my truck! :lmao:

Would HID lamps work in the factory housings? I guess I will be spending a lot more time on this site!

Look up ric on here. He has a discount code in his Signature for Toytec. I run a toytec spacer lift, ric has the ultimate lift kit, we're big toytec fans! Just ran a trail with the owner today.

If you do the lift, you should do sliders. I can't tell you how much I use them!

That looks like a CDN market SE. All 4Rs sold in Canada through Toyota were AWD, no 2WD up here.

I was looking at Autotrader tonight and there are a whack of "new" used 4Rs showing up, including several Silver 2005 SE.

Out of all the Runners I've seen, none of them had 4wd badges. Could it be that Canadian models don't include them?

I'll tell ya, good thing to wait though. I went all over southern Ontario, from Ancaster/Hamilton to Ajax. Every one I had checked out in the summer had excessive undercarriage "surface rust". It was hard to tell if there were subsurface issues. This one is clean! A few very tiny scuffs outside. I was able to bring them down to $28K, taxes/fees included. Doesn't seem like it towed anything, so probably a daily driver.

All Canadian 4Runners are 4WD thus none of them have the 4WD badging.

everybody has theyre own opinions on winter tires, & youll see alot of them if you do a search on this forum. id say, go to the tirerack site, & check out the reviews & ratings, then decide what looks good to you , & might work for your driving habits & area.

Congrats on the new ride! Great to see fellow canucks on here! Looks like a nice, clean, well taken care of truck.

I bought my 04 last year after Toyota bought my Tacoma back, completely love it and have never looked back. I'm sure you'll enjoy too.
