Pedal Commander vs Sprint Booster

Get some heavy shoes and get the same results.

Not really. That's exactly what I said/thought for 100K miles. Then I drove one with it.

If you haven't experienced it, then its easy to be a naysayer. I have changed my tune...I dare you!

It makes a huge difference on the trail...especially when your in a tricky incline and need to stage the wheels on objects. Pressing down the gas 3/4 just to make it clime an inch is not acceptable.

Based on research, here are the pros:

Sprint Booster
Has valet and pedal lock features
Smaller, more compact size
3 year warranty

I have the Sprint Booster on sale right now and am offering a 5 year warranty on it. With any electronic item, sometimes things can happen, and you're covered. I've sold 35 total in the past 2 months for 4th and 5th gen 4Runners. For some reason the 5th gens have more delay than the 4th gens do! The valet mode is pretty awesome. If it set, say someone has your keys, etc, when they get in and start it and try to go, nothing happens when they press the pedal down. It's fun to play jokes too.

Below is for those that may choose to mount the controller. Again, you don't have to plug it in if you don't want to. You can set it and forget it, and leave it in the glove box if you ever want to adjust later, but once you set it, you don't really need to change.

Install on my 18 4Runner was a piece of cake
As you can see from picture I used a blank plate and drilled a hole for Cable to fit, very clean
Not sure why 10 min Waite on 4Runner with door open, but I followed instructions
System works great and noticeable throttle response improvement
Stated with green 5 tried 9 then switched to red 9
That’s pretty much where it will stay
One install tip, I used a skinny dowl to feed controller wire
I’ll give the system a 5stars
Does what it says it will do

I had one and returned it. It's a gimmick.

I have the Sprint Booster and more then satisfied with how improved pedal response is. I leave in Sport 3 or Sport 4 and turn off when off road.

Yep, it really makes it like it should have been from the factory.

I just installed the Sprint Booster last week and am extremely happy with the results! It's like a whole new vehicle!!

Glad you like it. Click here to order:

Ordered a SB from Jason today and am anxiously awaiting it to come. One thing I will say that if you haven't talked with Jason in person(Burtman Industries ), DO SO ! We even discussed products for our new Tundra. He is an awesome guy and will spend the time with you as needed ! :dancin::thumb:

I bit.

I picked up a 19 RX350 for the Wife in December. Shortly after I sold my 14 Tundra and picked up a 19 4runner for myself. I knew stepping out of the Tundra and back into a 4 runner (I had an 06 previously) was going to be a big change, so I didn’t notice the lag too much. I just assumed I was used to the V8 and it would wear off. Then a few different times I drove the Wife’s Lexus and the 4runner back to back and was totally bummed. TheRX350 feels like a sports car (Im not a total kook…weekend ride is a GT3) and it made the 4runner feel like a 4-banger. Luckily I clicked the PC/sprint booster thread and was pleasantly surprised to know there was a fix. I installed the sprint booster last night in about 10 minutes and it totally cured the lag. I couldn’t be happier. Jason B was easy to deal with and shipping was lighting fast.

Just buy one.

I have 2021 nightshade 4runner. slow as heck, but added the PC and wow - like a new car. Just enough pep off the line makes all the difference. abit nervous about throwing codes, so will keep an eye out.

Just installed a PC on my 2020 TRD O/R. No issues, install took 4 minutes, it’s directly under my ignition so I can manually work it if I need/want. It also has the BT feature, which is cool, if you’re off-roading and can’t reach the module, you can always have your copilot adjust the settings from the passenger seat.

Throttle response is amazing depending on your settings. Trails, sand, or highway, you can run Eco mode if you’re watching gas mileage or need help being smoother/slower on the throttle.

Had a SB on my FJ. End of the day, it comes down to features you want.

I’ve been eyeballing one of these for a long long time and finally just pulled the trigger

Looking forward to the improved responsiveness!

Any guess how long for shipping to Hartford CT?

Although PC and SB operate in the same manner I got the Sprint Booster. Its controller is tiny, very easy to mount with Velcro on top of a switch blank.
Once I dialed in the setting I like I rarely change it. I have no need for any iPhone Bluetooth control.

Is Eco mode close to stock setting? Is there an option for stock? Just wondering what setting would come close to stock.

Hey guys, somewhat refreshing this thread because I need some input.

I would really like to get a throttle sensitivity controller like the 2 mentioned here, but I just can't justify the price. I've found another brand that is much cheaper in price. Has anyone heard of Velocity Performance? I haven't been able to find mention on the forums. They sell a throttle sensitivity controller, but wanted to make sure theirs was worth it before pulling the trigger. Any input is appreciated.

I dont think alot of people have tried it. Doesn't mean its bad, it just too new to have built a good reputation yet.

I personally don't want to be a beta tester on anything that can leave me stranded...thats just me.

I 2nd the sprint booster

I have the Sprint Booster and more then satisfied with how improved pedal response is. I leave in Sport 3 or Sport 4 and turn off when off road.

Just a guess if know one has both units to complete comparison

I second the sprint booster, set it and forget it. easy install, I put mine thought the blank switch panel on lower left of steering column, snapped the cover plate back in place and used double sided tape to secure the SB controller. Looks nice, small footprint and works great. I was on 5 sport (green) but on highway it makes it jump gear too easy when you try to pass. I'm on 3 sport (green) now and it's perfect for my driving (city and highway). I consider one of my best upgrades.
