I think it's just like any aftermarket rear, you'll have to add that on your own. From what I've seen they're just a flat piece of steel adjacent to the rear of the rear wheels.

Ok and probably not really needed anyways planning on having mine linex'd so should not have to worry of damage from gravel

In the second photo it looks like the side wings stick out well past the fender flares, are there any shots from the front of the truck looking down the side? Hard to tell if its just the angle of the photo/flex of the truck.

Correct. The Swing Out can NOT be added at a latter date. It would be a full bumper change.

If someone wanted to add mudflaps, will they attach to the rear bumper with provided pre-drilled holes. Or are rear mudflaps not an option with this.

This bumper does not maintain the OEM mud flaps. If a customer would like to add mud flaps it'll require a little work on the consumers end.

Nothing yet, you'll see it first installed on my vehicle. But I would go swing arm over non-swing arm. You can always remove the swing arms when not needed. But you can't add swing arms to a non-swing arm set.

got a non swing arm set for my mall crawler . will never need swing outs.

Here are some shots of the rear at different angles. There will be a slight gap to prevent contact with the body. With these Body On Frame vehicles you do have to leave a little room for frame flex and vibration. You want the bumper to protect the body, not damage it

Note: The production model will be slightly closer to the body.

I believe you can just remove the driver side. But sold with just one arm? unlikely.

This will only be available as a Dual Swing Out. With this design you will not be able to run only one side. Moving forward, all swing outs will come in a Dual configuration instead of the single.

Any particular reason why? Everything being lower is better. It's how you avoid wobble especially at higher speeds. Also makes getting the cans out easier, and increases driver visibility.

This looks amazing. I love the fact that it is a full replacement, and that the swing arms are removable, but how much of a PITA would they be to remove? And are you exposing other areas that you may not want open? I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to fab up a filler plate for when they are off, based on the most recent renderings.

I don't believe they're intended to be something you take on and off a lot.

Frankly for people not used to swing arm bumpers you'll almost assuredly leave them on 100 percent of the time. You get used to them pretty quickly.

I do like the new renderings as well!!! In my experience with cans mounted higher (on my CJ and FJ) refueling the vehicle tank was a super simple gravity syphoning process without pulling cans. Keeping the center of gravity as low as possible however is a definite plus that I can appreciate and more important whenever possible. There are always other ways to refill without pulling a can.

If you know, will the cans be high enough in this mounting position to still facilitate a gravity syphon refill?

As a sidebar question, and I am in no way trying to sound negative or contrary, I swore I would never go back to a swing-out mount after having one on my FJ. It was great at first but after a short time it became a rattle nightmare that I never learned to love off-road.

Do we know anything more at this point about how these swing-outs will lock-up to hold themselves in place and how rigid the swings will remain in the closed position when loaded? I am trying to talk myself into the idea versus the non-swing version (after previously swearing never again).
