Performance chips?

EFI live would be sick on these trucks lol I would so melt my pistons haha!

i was totally shocked after coming from domestic trucks and German cars where data logging and custom tunes are the norm. then bought this Toyota and was rudely awakened to the fact that we really dont have those options unless we run stand alone.

4Runner Perforance Chips

So does anyone really know for sure if any of these performance chips really work or not? I have a 2010 4Runner Trail and getting avg mileage (18 to 19 city and 23 to 24 Hwy). I have a K&N cold air filter in the original cold air box. That has helped, but I still have hesitation when first stepping on the gas. My 07 Tundra 5.7 TRD never had this. I would love to have that power back, wishful thinking. Any suggestions on improving performance would be nice. I got rid of the OEM tires at 16,000 miles and put on the Kumho Road Venture SAT KL61. I run them at 32 PSI and they are running even on all four. They handle pretty nice for an AT tire even on sharp corners. I get good traction with them in rain and snow also.

Why doesnt anyone consider weight loss for their vehicles as a means of gaining hp? I dropped spare, double decker, tool kit, run p rated Michelin tires and run with light cargo and 1/4 tank of gas lol thats when my toyota runs best!

Id drop the gas tank if i didnt need it occasionally

Goodness did you even read the thread? Or did you just see the title and post away?

Most modern engines are direct injection meaning the fuel and air don't meet til in the cylinder so a TBS is rendered useless so people need to know these are a bogus part that does nothing.

They result in a change in tone under acceleration. That's about it. Makes it sound beefier, which to most people, is a placebo effect that will equate to more power. But you are right in that they don't add any sort of noticeable power gain. :fro:

I want to beat every car or truck in a drag race. And that wasn't even my runner.... I just creamed on the supercharged engine but the engine with twins is beautiful! Im not trying to put together this engine with stuff in a ctolog, im going by what people on this website have done and what works.
curious...what exactly are you looking to do with your Runner? you never mentioned your needed result.
