There are alot of things you can do, it's just a matter of how much money you want to spend.
But for fast easy things go with a K&N air induction system and a better flowing exauhst system.

I already have a borla exhaust system on order, and looking into getting a k&n cai! I would love to have a turbo for it, but from what ive read id have to get it custom fit!

You could also search. I'm sure you will find plenty of ideas already discussed here.

I would love to just trade my runner in for a better version but unfortunatley, the government doesnt pay me as well as some may think, and for the v6 what sort of induction could i add?!?

I don't know man. To be honest with you, I purchased an AFE Stage 2 CAI, Gibson Catback Exhaust, and the URD MAF Cal. ALL of those combined didnt do anything but make it loud.

How I know? My mom has a 4runner as well (4.0 V6) ours were the SAME speed before the mods. And they are STILL the same speed after the mods.

I also question what I can do to get faster. Forced induction is out of the question..

You lose money on any mods. You will get only small gains with a air cleaner and exhaust. It you are that broke you better just save your money for gas since it is expected to go up 60 cents a gallon by spring. I do not know if you have bigger tires or sliders or anything but if you want more power take all that stuff off to loose weight and put stock size tires back on.

CAIs have been discussed many times on here, they do not increase any mileage or hp. the only thing it does is make your wallet lighter and actually pull hot air from the engine bay into the motor, which is counterintuitive for what a true "CAI" is supposed to do. the 4runner comes stock with a CAI.

You sir are a bit incorrect. The intake I am talking about is a TRUE cold air intake. It takes air from the fender just like the factory intake, but it cuts out the air box. SO the Intake tube goes straight to the throttle body.
This is the SEALED AFE stage 2 CAI
