I've gotta admit, I like the proportions of it, especially with the added height balancing things out. Are you going to mate the original end cap to the back of the cab now, to give it a nice rounded shape? Can't wait to see the finished product!

The plan right now is to just round it off using fiberglass. The plan changes everytime I cut something like.......

As we were cutting, I got the idea to install 12" speaker boxes here:

Also trimmed some more metal off the bottom of the body. The rear bumper plan is to come off the stock hitch mount with 2x3 steel, cross the bottom of the tailgate area, back towards the front right under the rear quarter and then tie it back in to the frame before it reaches the wheel well.

But I am loving the proportions as well Bob. I think someone else is already convinced to his the same, he just wants to practice on mine.

I'm curious about your speaker plans--you're not going to separate the bed area from the cab then? You know what would look really sweet on this--half doors that curve upward at the front of the front doors and the rear of the rear doors, to match the contours of the fenders, while still giving you a lower flat surface for your arm. Just a thought.

p.s. If you have any plans for a decent stereo system, this would be the optimum time to do the wire routing (hint, hint)

The only real wiring that would need to be done is for a sub and amplifier. As my final plans will be closer to a buggy than a 4 door SUV, half doors wouldn't be right, but I do like the idea.

If it all works out on mine, SVD and I will attempt to duplicate the results. By then we'll be good at it and will have no issue doing yours.

I'll want alot more off then just the back. No windows except for the front windshield. Tube doors. Full cage.

That is basically what I am eventually planning. Little bit at a time. This is kind of my inspiration.

A cage should almost be a priority, since that body lost a lot of strength with the rear portion removed--if it rolled now without those factory corners to stiffen it, the passenger section would be very vulnerable to collapse.

Looking in to steel. I won't put my passengers in danger, so a cage is in the works.

Oh, I already assumed that was on the list--you've been making smart decisions throughout this build. Creativity with intelligence makes for some pretty sweet project vehicles!

Fiber glass ordered! Still waiting on some decent weather to do some painting. Also, still dragging my feet on steel.

Got the broken bolt fixed and the water pump resealed and back on today. Started some paint work as well, but most of my paint work is focused on the MR2.

As much as love 4xInnovations, I can buy the same amount of metal for a fraction of the price. The Minnow is a budget build. I allow myself one major purchase (over $500) per year. This year it was tires, so I have to keep things simple for a while.
