Phone Issues - IPhone update?

Same issue here. 2020 LE. Exact same problem. If I stop and restart the car it clears up. Hard to do on the highway! Taking truck in on Monday.

Try deleting the BT connection between your phone and HU on both the phone and HU. Make sure you delete/forget both sources on each device and not just disconnect BT.
Once you pair the devices again, see if this makes a difference.

Thanks, meder24 That solved the problem.....have not updated to the latest iPhone software since the bugs need to be worked out first.

I have not done my iPhone or my wife’s. Holding off. No reason to update yet if all’s working well. Hopefully apple gets it corrected.

For me, turning off "LTE" in settings solved the bluetooth call dropping issue. Found this solution on an Apple forum and seemed to be the same resolution for everyone.

This is driving me crazy. I'll try disabling LTE but it's not loading any of my call history, favorites or anything. Is there a setting on the new iphone 11 i need to change to allow this? I'm on my phone in my 4R constantly and can't have hands on the phone anymore due to laws. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think that part has to do with "syncing contacts" under Bluetooth (on phone) -> click on your toyota and it should be one of 2 selections you can enable.

here is what I have tried so far:

-Update the etunes app - FAILED
-Update heads up display software - FAILED
-Update iphone software - FAILED
-Delete pairing and re-pair phone to 4runner - FAILED
-Delete pairing and repair phone to 4runner with disabling sync contacts - FAILED

Just dropped another call this am after 2 mins like everyone else... My display unit just resets but this time it re connected my call after having to dig into my pocket, switch phone call to speaker. The 4runner took the call back once the unit was fired up....

I disabled LTE per comments above - well try that.

Checking in again. I've been working on this for weeks and the only way my system stops rebooting is if I disable contact sync. Then I can use the phone for audiobooks, music, phone calls but none of the system features like reading messages, etc.

update: Still looking for resolution.

Updated firmware on HU display - Did not work
Turned off LTE on phone - Did not work
Deleted bluetooth connection and re-connected - Did not work
Updated Iphone - Did not work
Turned off Sync Contacts - Did not work

Cant hold a call for more than 30-90 seconds before the display just starts resetting itself...

Ideas? :toilet3:

Anyone having issues staying connected on calls after the newest iPhone update?

I updated my phone Sunday night, now when ever I call someone using the hands free I stay connected for about 3-4 mins then the toyota system freezes for a couple of seconds, says call ended and then completely resets... wait for the Toyota logo to come back up, everything.

Makes calls just fine everything like it used to but won’t allow me to talk more than a couple of minutes...

Any suggestions? I’m blaming the iPhone update as it wasn’t doing this last week before the update.

Check out this post... for all having the call drop / Bluetooth issue with iPhone, this did it for me.

I just went to the dealer for this, repeated reboots after 60 seconds if I have bluetooth enabled. They did a system reset and checked to make sure the previous system flash upgrade they did over the summer was still the latest version.

Then they said the radio needs to be replaced. $870 estimate plus taxes. I left without replacing the radio and I'll be looking at aftermarket options I guess.

I'm out of warranty- 82k. 2016 TE

Try this before paying for a repair...

Cause

Has any identified the reasoning behind why all of a sudden the system starts "rebooting" itself? was there a update that was missed?
