Photo Comparison $34 LED bulbs off Ebay

So, I figured for $34 off ebay, I would try the LED bulbs with integrated fans on them. Here is a comparison shot between halogen (ZXE Sylvania's) and my cheap LEDs. Despite the glare in the photo, I never have anyone flashing me because of the glare. Guess it was just my camera making it look like a lot of glare…..IMO….worth the price considering the extortionist pricing of halogens!

putting LED bulbs into a reflector housing without a cutoff is about the worst thing a person can do. You combined 2 things that were never intended to work as one. Usually this blinds people and exceeds the legal candlepower rating.

I would also say freaking out instead of responding with reason or proof is also a hallmark of the guilty party. Example, trump on twitter.

One way to tell for sure is to take pics of the lights shining onto a wall from say 20 feet away, and see if the beam goes above the proper cutoff line (i.e. above the headlight height).

All good suggestions. However, the way I tell if they work, is by my daily driving experience. No one has ever flashed me thinking my headlights (with the LED bulbs) was too bright. As far as putting LED’s into a headlight that was somehow limited to any improvement; as demonstrated by the; “You combined 2 things that were never intended to work as one.” Well, (surprise) they do work and they work well.

I guess a good analogy would be that no one ever “intended” to move away from a hot-ass filament light bulb, but with LED technology (i.e. using an LED light bulb in a lamp at home) low and behold, the LED lightbulb in a lamp at home works quite well, uses less electricity and puts off a brighter light…..whether it was “intended” is not the point……whether it works (or not) with a clearly distinguishable level of improvement…really is THE POINT…..just saying…..

I do not question people on this forum as to their decisions to try something new. If you try something new and it works (or is an improvement) GOOD FOR YOU! If your attempt at "new things" does not work, there is a lesson in that.

I do not adhere to some archaic mind-set that trying something new is a bad thing. Searching for something “new and improved” is the key to innovation and I for one, am ALL ABOUT innovation!

"Reason or proof?" What exactly is the specific "reason" or the specific "proof" you need to justify real-life experience? Please provide me with some specifics and I will try and provide that for you. Anxiously waiting.....

Looking at the light pattern projected onto a wall is much more objective and would put this whole discussion to bed. I'd love to see the results especially if they show that the lights do not shine higher than headlight level.

This might sound strange but a stationary vehicle shining lights on a fixed wall does not seem to mimic the driving conditions one might experience every day (After all, vehicles, by nature, are not stationary) and on-coming vehicles in motion are also hardly stationary........so, please help me understand the logic here.....

Gotta love our people in Minnesota! Still looking for those concrete examples of "reason or proof" you mentioned in your passionate response.

"Usually" people who set up their own private email servers in their bathroom and exchange confidential and classified "state secrets" go to JAIL. People who use their "charitable foundation" as a criminal money-laundering operation - go to JAIL. People who "freak out" are those who never answer questions which are based in the search for OBJECTIVE EVIDENCE. One question; you mention "legal candlepower rating". What is the "legal candlepower rating" in the USA and each state? The only reason I ask is because your response had such a tone of "authority" to it. Can you educate us all on the "legal candlepower rating" so that we can all be sure to be in total compliance?
