This is disappointing to see you write...before anyone mistakes this as fact let me correct you. ARB has one of the toughest bumpers on the markets, ingenious bracket designs stout as the bumper itself and still maintains stock airbag deployment specs. Have you had any first hand experience with an ARB bull bar, or any ARB products? Have you seen how the bull bars are made? I can go on and on but for sake of time you should do more research before posting negative reviews of products.

And if by that post you're implying the Savage is a stronger option than either applicable ARB bull bar then you have lots to learn man. Sorry but I do not approve one bit

This all started with Shawn. He said that his ARB flexed a lot. Liny was just stating what he heard.
 
Not to get at Shawn but he does some pretty insane things (with his 4Runner), so the fact that the bumper and truck are still in tact should say that ARB and Toyota make quality products.

that's not my opinion, just what I gathered from the previous posts on this very thread(http://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/60070-arb-bumper-without-tubes.html). I have decided on the ARB, but I want a used one because I want to cut off the tubes and do something a little different.

Updates!

got a Curt hitch-mounted rear tire carrier (which I am slightly indifferent about...tell me what you think)





I also completed my spin on the DRL disable. I started by disabling the DRL as per the 01-02 procedure (black/yellow wire). I then pulled out both corner lenses and cut the power lines going to each one. The harness side got tucked away and the light bulb side got connected to each other, and then to an IGN source (power on when igniton is turned to on) and walla! DRLs that activate the corner bulbs only. I also swapped them out for LED bulbs to keep the amperage draw to a minimum. I'll post pics tonight because my cam doesn't pick up the lights well in the daylight.




oh, and my LED tails will be in Monday!

You know, usually I like most of the stuff you do to your truck...but that tire carrier just doesn't seem to match the rest of the rig...call me crazy. It looks functional though!

yeah, the wheel doesn't match, the tire doesn't match...I didn't feel like dropping another 250 for a wheel and 250 for a tire, considering the KM2's are indestructable anyways.

Luckily, it's not permanent...just to hold me over until I can afford my tube bumper with swing-away
 
Just take the hitch and tire carrier off till you have the right stuff to mount it, and have the hitch to work with the body lift.

I agree with all of you guys, and I already have authorization to return the carrier...

so, like that girl you woke up next to that you swore looked like a girl the night before, let's all just forget about this little hitch mounted tire carrier incident, okay? :bigok:

Uh what happend to that crap load of snow that you guys had??


The tire also blocks your plate so you'd have to relocate it. Glad its returnable.

On I side note look at your 4runner makes me think mine needs a BL now. sigh.
 
Good call on the tire carrier, that thing was uuuuuuugly! Didn't you use to have the tire in the rack? I think that looks good
