Picking up a used 06 T4R this week, any tips?

Later this week/weekend I am picking up a used 06 4runner Limited 4x4 V8 w/ Nav. It is the nautical blue metallic w/ stone interior and sunroof. What should I look out for when doing my pre-purchase inspection and test drive?

I have already gotten into contact with Troy Dietrich in regards to the 100k platinum extended warranty, especially after reading about the driveline clunk, sunroof issues, seat clicking and warped rotors. Anything else I should pay extra attention to?

My 01 Tundra Limited TRD will be missed, but the updated 4.7 should provide more than enough towing power for pulling my enclosed trailer that is used for motocross racing.

Based on the bad experience recently of another member, I'd check for any mods done be the owner(s) to make sure they were done properly and with the same level of quality you would expect. We had one that discovered that the owner did a rotten job replacing the head unit, for example.

That's a good point about potential mods.
Otherwise, there isn't anything in particular mechanically that you need to watch out for. Get maintenance records if you can, just so you know service was done to the truck and when.

I don't know who Troy is but there is a guy Shaun from the "Extended Warranty" threads that is offering great deals on the warranties.

Pull the air filter to see if there is any mud in the filter box. A member here recently was suprised to find some mud in the air box. Looked like the previous owner fjorded a river :
