I have a similar setup. I had to heat gun mold the fender liner away and trim a piece of the front bumper (1"x4" - 4inch was a diagonal cut). The bumper trim was on the inner most part of the front bumper so you couldnt even see it.

I also use 1.25" spacers and not the 1.5" spidertrax.

Got this from another member on here before, can't verify it myself but he seemed confident in his answer

The stock Trail Edition wheel is:
Diameter: 17"
Width: 7.5"
Offset: +15mm
Backspacing: 4.84"

Stock TRD Pro wheel is:
Diameter: 17"
Width: 7"
Offset: +4mm
Backspacing: 4.16"

Tires: Duratracs 285/75/17
Suspension: Bilstein 5100 front set at 2.5, Rear 1.5 spacer
No rubbing at all.

This is a very useful thread for me. Thanks for posting. I want to change my stock tires out to 275/70/17 or 285/70/17 AT when the stock tires wear out. Or I get tired of them. It's good to see these fit on the stock TE 17x7.5 rims.

Of course I found this thread AFTER I ordered 1"'spacers for the rear!! I think I might put them up for sale or see if they'll exchange them for 1.5" so I can put the 5100's to 2.5" in the front. 285's look bad ass on these trail rims!!! Anyone have any interest in brand new 1" cornfed rear spacers??

285s on stock TE wheels. Stock height rear, front up maybe .75" with adjustable height coilovers. Pretty close to stock. Just the slightest of rub on the front bumper at full lock in reverse on the driver's side. Stock UCAs, no problems.

Have you had a chance to flex the suspension all the way out with the wheels turned? I'm wondering if the rub is any worse.

Not addressed to me but I will chime in:

It shouldn't be. I just spent some time yesterday moving my fender liners forward and doing some minor trimming. As I was playing around and testing I noticed that on the bumper, the only potential rub spot is when the suspension is "neutral" because at that point the tire is closest to the bumper. As the wheel moves up or down it actually clears the rub spot.

For my AT 285s there was no bumper rub, just liner rub at full lock reverse, but I trimmed the bumper a little anyway. A more aggressive tire would likely have some bumper rub but as I noted above it would most prevalent when "neutral" / uncompressed / unflexed.

No rub. The suspension when flexing up moves back as well. Since the clearance issue is the front bumper on mine at least, it actually moves away from it rather than closer to it. So it's really at full droop that it rubs just a bit.

Well this thread made it real easy for me to change my mind!!! I opted out of 1" rear spacers for the 1.5" so I can jack the front up to 2.5" with my new 5100's. Can't wait to get some 285's on my trail rims!!! Now the real debate begins, what tire... Grabber AT2's or DuraTrac's?!?!

I loved the Duratracs I had on my Rubicon, thinking of using them on the 4Runner when the time comes...
