Yup, that's definitely the limited gauge cluster, looks just like mine.
As to the "red dot", my opinion is that the needles are basically "fiber optic" and the light that illuminates them (gauge lights are on all the time, regardless of whether your running lights or headlights are on or not) simply passes out the end of the needles and reflects off the side of the gauge's enclosure. At least that's how it appears to me when I am sitting right in front of them.
As to swapability? I would assume that they are swapable. Like I said, I think the "dot" is a function of the needles' internal lighting system and would work so long as the needles themselves had power and would otherwise light up.
I also never knew there were separate gauge clusters among the models. I didn't really notice the "red dot" on mine until the drive home from the dealership when I bought it - and I could not remember if the SR5 and Sport models I had test driven a week earlier had them.
