All that wire is is another ground wire splice into the ground coming off the radio thats what i did on my install and i can watch movies while driving also.

Nice. I would've done that had I known about it when I originally did my install years back. Good to know it can be done much easier than the relay mod. :bigok:

Nonetheless, explain your statement a bit more about which wire goes where? You stated: "All that wire is is another ground wire splice into the ground coming off the radio". Which wire is "that wire"? Then just tap x wire into the ground wire?

On my 4200DVD, I had to have a switched ground, which is what the parking brake switch is. Just grounding the wire didn't work. I believe the wire in question is purple (Pioneer harness).

I didn't read through the whole thread, so sorry if I'm repeating something here. I had a very similar plan in mind in the not too distant future when I get around to the head unit/GPS setup. I was going to put the cameras under the car with a good view of both axles/sets of wheels. One of the most important things in wheeling is tire placement, and what better way to simplify that than being able to actively see each tire in real time. Thanks for the wiring diagram and proof of concept! I'm bookmarking this thread for future reference, so please don't pull the photos from wherever they're hosted anytime soon.

I had planned to wire up a few cameras underneath as well. I ran the additional wiring upon the initial install, just never got around to buying the extra cameras & running the wiring underneath the vehicle. Maybe one day I'll get around to that.

yeah i actually just ran that wire to a switch then on to ground so i can double ground manually,plus i like switches and buttons...makes me feel like a jet pilot.... lol
