Yeah I found it on Amazon for $380.. I've heard nothing but good things about Kenwood units.

There is an alpine model with 7" HD screen that mirrors the iPhone or Android 4.1+ screen. It is $599. No link but should be easy to find.

Just wondering if anyone else in the 3rd gen world has this double din set up in their t4r? I found a killer deal on Amazon and I wanted to get some reviews from you guys. I'll post a link to the head unit from Youtube.

Pioneer AppRadio 3 - YouTube

I have the Appradio3 you mentioned installed in my 2000. I LOVE it, sounds great, looks very clean, and the apps allow me to use it for more than I probably ever will. It responds quickly and works well with bluetooth and everything else. I also am running the Dashcommand app with a wireless OBDII device which allows me to use the app radio for everything from a code reader, displaying engine and fuel data, and a inlinometer. I too payed about 400 plus the correct device cable for your phone.

Let me know if you have any questions about it. But I highly recommend it for its versatility, good sound, and great looks. I have a picture of it on my build thread.

I have the original appradio and the only thing I don't like about it is it only had a sub pre amp out. I had to use a line out converter for the 4 speaker channels which hinders the sound quality a bit. Did they fix the problem on the new appradio3 and have six pre amp outs? I've been considering getting an iphone 5 and I'm on the fence about getting the appradio3 or the alpine unit mentioned. Pioneer and Alpine make very good units from my experience.

I had the original app radio and hated every minute of it...finally got rid of it and have the pioneer I believe 4400 or something like that and it is spectacular

how long ago did you have it? They came out with a lot of updates for it in the past 6 months which got rid of all the bugs. Plus if you were using the appradio's on board ipod player that might be another reason why you didn't like it. You have to download an app called carmediaplayer, so much better than the one that comes programmed onto the appradio. There is also an iheartradio app specifically designed for the app radio that works really well.
