Pioneer AVIC-D1 on 4th Gen

Thanks for all use helpful information in this thread.

I have checked with so many local stereo shops, and online places about installing a Pioneer AVIC-D1 into my girlfriends '06 4-Runner, and all of them say, sorry, no mounting kit for it.

I am going to order the double din kit from Scoshe, and *maybe* the steering wheel kit was mentioned as well...

I've got 2 of the units sitting here with matching XP radio modules and i have been waiting to find a way to install them since they were removed from my Nissan 350 Z's, which we traded in on her '06 4-Runner, and tonight, I traded in the other for a '06 Sequoia Ltd 4x4. Unfortunately, I bought a loaded one, and it came with Navigation, but i may be tempted to yank it out because I cannot hookup satellite to it because the vehicle came with the entertainment (dvd) package which I didn't really care for.

Well, this is great news, and I feel pretty positive about installing one of them into her 4-Runner.

I have an 05 4Runner SE that I am trying to install the Pioneer Avic D2 and am having a difficult time. I went to have it professionally installed today and found out the no one knows what mounting bracket to use or the JBL amp bypass harness. Does anybody know what site I can go to to purchase these items and what their part numbers are? Thanx for the assist.

There are 2 PAC Steering wheel interfaces that you can buy. One is a hard wire and one uses infrared. I got the hard wire one. It was very easy to install and program. There is however, a slight delay when you hit the button. As far as the Sirius tuner, I can change the stations but due to the programming I cannot change the presets. I think you can only program the presets to change track or presets but not both. That is the next thing I have to look into.

Do you have the part number of the "hardwired" PAC control?

Do you think the PAC SWI-X work with the Pioneer AVIC-D1?

The PAC SWI-X needs the remote to setup (i think).... but the D1 doesn't come with a remote?

And even the option remote for D1... It doesn't look like it is the IR one.... anybody could confirm that?
