Pioneer DVD player and iPhone users>>>>

I have the AVH-P5200BT and a first gen iPhone. I bought the CD-IU50V cable which is basically a usb/mini audio plug that is supposed to send video (including streaming netflix) from the iphone to the pioneer head unit.

Well, I have tried everything and can't get any video to work. I hooked up my iPod and the music goes ok but it works exactly like a normal white ipod cable. The perk to the CD-IU50V is the sending of video to the Pioneer....

Anyone know what to do? I haven't been able to find a 'hidden menu' like some of the Pioneer models have upon start up...but maybe I am doing something wrong.

Did u enable tv out on the iPhone? U might need to use the apple av cable kit, plug the RCA in the unit itself on aux1 or 2 for the video, u might loose the iPod control from the deck.

Well, I was able to get video from the 'iPod' part of the iPhone to go through...but the Netflix wouldn't stream...I think the reviews on Amazon were incorrect...I tried everything. Sending that cable back and getting some A/V cables as you suggested and will just run those to the back. I am not that worried about losing the iPod control b/c I won't be controlling anything except netflix via my iPhone...otherwise I can just use the regular iPod cable. Thanks!

I have a Pioneer z120bt and iphone4 with the same cable. It's designed to play all audio and video content from the iPod portion (just like you just discovered). You can stream YouTube by simply playing an iPod video then getting into YouTube and it just "tricks" the unit. You should try that with Netflix to see if it works.

Or you can jailbreak and use an app like TVOut. I did this last week so now I can play my Slingbox and anything else on my iphone. Basically it just sends whatever is on your iphone to the headunit.

That makes sense. I sent the cable back and just got an AV cable for it to run into the back. I don't really care about the iPod control for my iPhone...b/c I won't leave it connected all the time. So I just ran a normal ipod cable to my glovebox and the AVs will be run to my glovebox too.

Thanks for the input...I had my phone jailbroken, but I have a 1st gen iphone and the jailbreaks don't really work for it anymore b/c people have moved on to the newer stuff.
