Pistons, plugs, coils ... numbers?

On a V6 how are the pistons/plugs/coils numbered?

I have to replace coil #4 according to the machine, but which one is #4?

If I am standing at the front of the 4Runner, how are they numbered? Driver's side first, passenger side first, left to right, right to left? I have no idea and nowhere in either the owner's manual or the Haynes am I able to find reference to how they are sequenced or numbered.

Desperate for your help - and thanks in advance.

Here ya go. And usually numero uno is front. If this is wrong someone chime in.

Thank you very much! It looks like a Gen III diagram, but it still works for the layout I would bet. YOU DA MAN!

So ... The numbering is
5 6
3 4
1 2
Front

Yep. That looks right. The diagram I posted is for both the 5vz and 1gr which is the 4th gen v6.
