Plasti-Dip colors

I'd like to plasti-dip (or paint???) the emblems on my 2013 LE. I'd really like a teal blue color and looks like color choices in the plasti-dip spray cans are kind of limited. BUT, they have a Dip Coating & Specialty Rubber Coating | Plasti Dip Create Your Color Kit "create your own color" kit. I'm just wondering if anyone has used this stuff with a paint brush? And if so, does it leave brush marks? How many coats are required?

You don't paint on anything with a brush, you spray it on like any rattle can. Emblems probably 4-5 coats are enough.

The create-your-own color kit makes a liquid paint that you have to apply with a brush. I guess you could put it in your own sprayer, but I don't have a sprayer...............

Are you just thinking the front Toyota emblem and the back 4Runner emblem? The front one easily comes off so you could "dip" it if you want. The 4Runner lettering can be removed as well but it'll take a lot more work to remove them - you'll need a heat gun and fishing line - then you'll need to put them back on using some good double-sided tape. Way more work than just using a rattle can and peeling the excess.

Yeah in my experience its almost impossible to get a smooth finish with a brush. as an alternative, I've had great results when ordering a rattle can from a company called Automotive Touchup, here's the Link.

I did my front bumper on the TE last night. Super easy and I highly suggest it for emblems as well. I think this was about coat 3 during the drying process. Came out almost perfect.
