Man I say spray all of them!! Wow that looks REALLY nice on your 4Runner and it will look even better with a lift and new Nitto Terra Grapplers!!

Ha thanks, that's exactly what I was thinking too. The flat black and aggressive tread will completely change the look :bigok:. It looks too tame right now

I have not peeled it off the rims myself yet, but I have peeled it off other items and it has always came off cleanly once you get it started. I think the wheels look great. I like the contrast of the flat black with the shiny. I have plasti-dip waiting for warmer weather to do my wheels and front grill. It seems to hold up well according to what I have read on the internet. There is a video on youtube showing it standing up to a pressure washer without coming off and another showing it being removed from a wheel by peeling it off by hand. It seems to come of with little difficulty, if you decide to remove it. I decided to try it for the same reasons you mentioned. If I get tired of it, I can just take it off.

Yea, the contrast is really what makes it look good. And I read a lot of posts all over different forums and couldn't find anyone who was unhappy with it when they used it properly (ie. not on high traffic areas like truck bed or side steps). And that's funny that you mention that video...I was just watching that and was going to post it. lol.

I really want to do mine this weekend too as we're supposed to be in the mid 60's, but i'm about to get new tires and would hate to have to redo them due to the install. Guess Ill just wait a little longer.

Yea, I picked mine up at Home Depot for 5.98 too. Its a great deal considering what all you can do with it. Plus, it only takes about 2 cans to do 4 wheels (possibly less depending on how many coats you apply).

Update!
So, out of curiosity, I peeled off the plastidip on the spare today. I tried to scrape/poke/rub it off on the spoke with no luck. It only left a smudge mark. This seems to be inline with what i've read about its durability. It came off very easy once I was able to get under the edge of the sprayed area. This seems like a win for both durability and ease of removal.
However, it is worth noting that there are a few areas that require more attention to remove: 1) On the very top outer wheel edge near the tire 2) Around the lug holes 3)Around the weights if you have them on the outside edge. 4)The backside of the wheel if you don't completely cover it too (this seems to be caused by the light mist of overspray from the front vs a solid coat of plasti can be fixed by spraying the area more thoroughly or taping it off. I just chose not to on the spare)
After doing this, I am now considering taping of the very bottom around the lug holes (only the flat area). This should make it easier to remove and should also be depressed enough that nothing will catch the edge and make it peel on its own.
And of course...I snapped a few pics during the process :bigok::

Thanks Goat, I just figured you guys would be curious as to what it looked like and how well it actually peeled off...I know I was.
Same here Tech, I just wanted to see for myself before actually spraying my main wheels.
How did you handle the problem areas I mentioned in my post? Did you spray the entire backside and wheel weights as well?

Yea, Its not a big deal but I may go ahead and get them to put my weights on the inside anyway whenever I get new tires put on. I'm not too worried about it either but always trying to think ahead.
Now I'm thinking of all the different ways I could used this stuff. I wonder how the plastic panel on the rear hatch would look plasti-dip'd? Heck, what about the entire cargo area (just the plastic of course)! And this is how it all starts lol...:lookout:

^^^Very Nice! That looks awesome TacMedic. It's amazing how something so cheap and simple can completely change the look. How many coats did you use?

Cracked windshield. Its been like that since the day after I bought it in February of 07!!!! Then the freeze came to TX last month and it got bad... Trying to put it off as long as possible.....
