SCRunner, although this is probably directed at TacMedic, I'll chime in. As I stated in my previous post, the mud and dirt wiped off extremely easy. I threw some mud on and let it dry for several hours...it just wiped off leaving no marks on the plasti dip. Of course this all depends on how thick the plasti-dip is applied. It seemed to be smoother and less "sticky" feeling if I sprayed it on from a fairly close distance (it had a more rubberized, rougher looking texture from farther out).
As for the amount of time between dying (~4 hrs from last coat) and mounting them up, I've seen varying times will no reported difference in results although I'd be interested to hear from the others. Most seem to wait 1 day while others wait 2 days. I don't think more time would hurt but, at a certain point, its not getting any dryer.
The stuff is strong once it cures and is fairly resistant to nicks and cuts. The only problem you would have to worry about if not fully dry is the area around the lugs by bumping it when mounting.
