Hey guys! I used Plasti Dip to paint my front bumper today, because it had significant damage from road salt when I bought it.

I took pictures step by step. This was my first time working with Plasti Dip, so I wasn't entirely sure what I was doing, but it worked out really well.

I've attached pictures of what it looked like before, after, and along the way. It was really simple, I did it in my garage with like $30 worth of supplies (and zero skill):

• 150 grit sand paper
• Windex Multi-Surface Vinegar
• Microfiber towel
• Scotch Blue Painter's Tape for Delicate Surfaces
• Newspaper
• Plasti Dip

Next I'm doing the rear bumper, and the wheels. I got the idea on the forum, so thank you guys!

Thanks! I'm sure it would look great. The great thing about Plasti Dip, though, (and this is just from what I've been reading) is that if it doesn't look good, it just peels off and doesn't leave any damage or residue.

So if you're not certain, just don't sand your bumper before you apply it. Clean it really well and spray on a coat. It drys in like 20 minutes, and if you like it, put on a few more coats, if you don't just peel it off!

Does the silver touch up paint match the silver on that center portion of the bumper? My middle portion is a little rough, but I've already plasti-dipped all the stuff I want to on mine.

I wanted to do the roof rails, but I wasn't sure exactly how to do it, because of how funny shaped they are. How did you do yours?

Blacking out that lower, center section really changes the look... the complete opposite of the earlier Sports with that silver section. Nice improvement!

Thank you! I know, I didn't think I would like it, but it looks way better than if I had just had the bumper replaced, which is what I planned to do.

Ha. I guess I could have been more clear.

I do want to repaint the bumper, because of that spot of paint that's missing in the front. I know Toyota sells a paint touch up kit that will match the color perfectly. I'm wondering if that's too big of a spot to try and use that on, though?

I saw that picture of the silver runner and painted my just like that. I had a hard time getting my lines clean. (I only had a pocket knife) I'll have to go back and clean it up.

Did you have a hard time getting it off? plasti dip keeps pulling the whole thing with the tape..

On the first pic with the PD on there, I'm guessing it wasn't dry? I have a 2003 and was to do the un painted plastic cladding.
