Plasti Dipped my emblems

haha that too crazy! theres no krispy kreme in Rock Hill? where do you work? i lived right by the big red sheet factory they had or i guess still have over there. but yeah man sometimes i got to go to some of those local cook outs and holy cow! i was in love. anyway sorry to shift the thread a little

Gulches is in Waterloo South Carolina. That's about the only place we have. I think there is a good range of difficulty there.

Nope, the closest one is in Matthews, NC on the other side of Charlotte. There was one in Charlotte but they closed it. I work just off of Carowinds Blvd.

Sweet! I've never used any of that stuff yet- i just painted the spoiler. So obviously tape everything off, if it somehow gets on the paint will it come off easily without causing any damage?

Lets just say that I did a halfass tape job yesterday to redo my emblems (saw some spots I missed) and I had a good amount of over spray and it came off. It wasnt as easy as when you have a clean edge to peel from but I did get it off without damaging the paint.

Just don't hold me responsible if yours does mess up.

I have tried to plasti dip my emblems and am not having much luck. It won't stick and I keep getting little divots on the letters. I didn't have any trouble blacking out my chrome grill. Help!!
 
With plastidipping, Did you need to spray a clear coat? I plan on doing my stock wheels as well and wanted to know if I should shoot it with clear coat. On the emblems, did you guys shoot it with clear coat?
 
I didn't use clear on my emblems as the whole point of using plasti-dip for me was the fact that I didn't have take the emblems off. I recently did my air deflector and roof rack and I did use clear on those, got the idea from childrenofbodom. He says that it will stain easily and gets scuffed up too easy without it. I am very pleased with way the plasti-dip clear combo came out, seems very strong from what I can tell so far.

kinda of a stupid question but do you need to tape around each letter on the emblem or do you just spray then use a razor to peel off the over spray
 
I just roughly taped around them and peeled off the excess when it dried, didn't even use a razer but it probably would have been easier.
