with the plasti dip did you tape off your wheels or were you able to just peel off the over spray after?

i dont recommend that. if you do that and try to peel off the extra it might take it all off.

I got a suggestion from another member on here. He said it might work to place playing cards between the tire and wheel. Just remove the cards after every coat and you should be good.

Exactly. If the plasti-dip dries in contact with the wheel and cards, it'll probly all peel off when you try to remove the cards.

How easy is it to peel plasti dip off? I've been trying to get around to painting the plastics on my Yamaha WR250f all winter but I've been hesitant as I know that no matter how well I sand, primer, paint, clearcoat and bake them, they will inevitably get scratched to all hell in the brush.
So I was thinking after seeing all these plasti dipped bumpers and stuff, if it's super easy to lay on, and pretty cheap, I could just peel it off when it gets all scratched up and throw on a new layer in no time.
Let me know what you guys think.
Later in the year I think I'll throw it on my summer 5 spokes and see what it looks like before I invest time in sandblasting em and giving em a real nice paint job.

Just some advice:
I have plastidipped my flares, bumper, and mudflaps.
The stuff gets stained. Every cleaner in the world wouldn't make these things clean again. I had to peel my stuff all the way and I have to redo it all, except, this time, I will clear coat with Krylon flat clear to give it that protection from bullshiit staining.

I would have to agree. I did my grille with it, anytime I got wax on it, it had to be redone. The surface of the stuff is just way to porous and it makes it impossible to get clean. Also on wheels its no where near durable enough.

Oh it'll stick just be prepared to touch up all the time.
Multiple touch ups for mostly city driving too? Most off road I do is on dirt roads in Texas...
So than is this more of a hassel than its worth?

Yea for sure try it out. If you dont like it, peel it off. If you like it and it is chipping too fast, use an actual paint.
