Plastic trim defect

Lol maybe! If you would have noticed before you drove it off the lot they certainly would have replaced it.

I think it really depends on how you act when you go back to the dealer to inquire about it.

If you ***** they will most definitely laugh at you after they send you on your way.

If you are sincere and genuinely worried about it to the point of shedding a tear they may feel bad for you and replace it... at the price of your dignity of course

If you are technically inclined and explain a failure in the composition of materials in that specific batch of parts you may baffle them into replacing it.

Or just wait a couple more years and get a replacement off of a total if it bugs you that much.

Unfortunately, if you drive it, it is like getting that first ding or scratch, it is inevitable, a fact that you need to accept.

Looks like a good excuse to start pulling trim and painting to your liking (match exterior paint?). Glass half full mindset.

It's the fact that it cracked on its own. I would understand if I did it on my own. Toyota quality is not the way they used to be. I mean I bought it new and inspect interior and exterior before I took delivery. I only I have 5050 miles on the thing.

With only 5k miles I'm sure they will warranty it out. I'd show it to them at your 5k service if you haven't had it yet.

A side note, when you say toyota quality isn't what it used to be you may be right, however neither is honda, Nissan, ford, etc.

In my opinion toyota hasn't fallen off as much as the others. For piece of mind I choose toyota.

Yeah I just had my 5k service done. I just noticed the defect today. I guess I can ask them about it on my next visit. Anyone else with this issue?

Also it's garage kept so I don't understand why it would crack this early.
