That is awesome! Thinking about blacking out anything else? I may do this with my 4runner. Thanks!
Well I'll try that!
Could be a lifesaver...
Antman: did you try the WD-40 or Simple Green, and if so, how'd it work for you? Thinking of 'dipping my TE rims, but want to know I have an out if it doesnt meet expectations.
Re-dipped the wheels after the dip got scuffed up when I had the new tires mounted. The dip has held up great in all conditions, front bumper included. Definitely a great project.

It looks great. Tires look amazing!! what brand and size are they
Thanks, they're Cooper ATPs (Load E) in the stock 265/7017 size. Much more tread than the stock Dunlops. These are only available through Discount Tire or shipped via Discount Tire Direct. They're very similar to the Cooper AT3s that are available most places but have a little more aggressive corner tread. Also the heavier E load. Picked them up for $698. Much thanks to Okki and @1E for their recommendations and research.
No, I haven't tried either yet. I did use Acetone, and it dissolves the dip almost instantly.
The OP is correct- the dip will peel right off as long as the surface is warm. When it's cold it pulls off in little pieces and just annoys the hell out of you! I figure I'll either:
A: Warm the garage up to 70 or 80 with my kerosene heater and peel the dip easily.
B: Wait until it get's warmer out.
C: Just use the acetone.
I've been completely gutting my garage and building a new workbench so I haven't had the time to mess with it.
