Plastidip! *pics*

Needed to rotate my tires, so I figured it was a good time to try out the Plastidip. I love it!

Very simple process. I just cleaned the wheels, stuck magazine subscription cards all along the rim, and started spraying. I did four coats with 25-30 minutes between coats. After the final coat, I allowed five hours dry time before reinstalling.

How about some close up pics ... I'd like to see the finish up close. My stock rims have some bubbling and this may be a good fix.

Also, what other colors did they have?

Home Depot only had the standard black.

I"ll post up some close-ups tomorrow.

Nah. The contrasting letters make it work.

Thanks. I'm kinda partial to the whitewalls myself. I'm not really into the whole "murdered-out" look and plan on leaving the badges and tires the way they are. The truck isn't black--it's shadow mica. Looks black when it's clean though.

Looks good. I had a friend plastidip his roof once. The material peels off fairly easily and really clean. Was thinking of trying this sometime.

This looks awesome, kind of makes me wish i had gotten a black or silver 4runner instead of the navy blue. I just picked up 5 cans of plastidip yesterday to do my wheels and grille.

Yeah in the same boat as you with the navy blue, but the black wheels still work I think

Looks really nice! i wanna do my grill. Does the tire shine affect the plastidip in any way? I read somewhere it may cause it to peel off? True?

Spray tires without the index cards?

If you search dipyourcar.com or Youtube, there are several videos that show Plasti-dip being sprayed over the rim and tire without any kind of masking. When dried, it looks like they just peel it off the rubber. Has anyone ever tried it without the index cards or masking the tires?

Looks great. Love the white letters, really ties everything together.

One off subject question: how do you like those tires? I was thinking of buying them but there are a lot of choices.
