Plastidipped Emblems and Headlights

Hey guys this Plastidip stuff is amazing... I would highly recommend buying some and playing around... The beauty of this stuff is that it protects your original finish and peels right off like a latex glove when your tired of it. Check out my dipped headlights (top only to prevent UV damage) and my plastidipped emblems. I am a first time user of this stuff and it worked great the first time. Also go to dipyourcar.com to see instructional videos on how to apply this stuff it really works. Note: You don't even need to tape in between all the letters because the plastidip pulls off perfectly leaving on the emblems coated. You must check out the instructional vid's on the dipyourcar.com website.

For the sake of posting pics I also wrapped my front grill with carbon fiber vinyl and it looks great too.

I would like to do the same thing to my tailgate. Did you spray the whole thing (chrome back piece) and then peel from there?

Actually, the tailgate treatment is fairly original. I believe that is the first I've seen where someone left the blank chrome and only treated the emblems.

For those that may have plastidipped the door handles, have you found the plastidip to be durable enough to withstand daily use?

I did some plastidipping this past weekend on some interior trim pieces and also the back emblem...agree that the stuff rocks.

No need to mask anything off on the rear, just spray heavy enough and peel away what you don't like!

how'd you do the emblems?? did you have to take them off?

i did mine about 6 months ago....removed front emblem which is easy and applied plastidip and reattached.

for rear emblem and 4runner lettering I just taped off approx 1/2" around both and oversprayed...start with a very light coat...I did 4 coats on each...when all is dry just grab edge of overspray at tear off around letters and emblem....it will cut perfectly.

ps carefully clean all surfaces with some IPA and some qtips before plastidipping.

next up for me is the steering wheel emblem....got to black that out.
