I have an 08 4Runner Limited completely stock (18" wheels). I would like to lift it.. but I just cant afford it yet. I need tires and would like to go as tall as possible with out rubbing.. I would also like them alil wider, but mainly looking for the hight. Anyone know the max diameter i can go with an AT tire? Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanx!!

275/65/18 will fit if you move the fender liner forward.

Why not do the Daystar 2.5/1.5 spacer kit? Allows you to fit 285's and the kit is easy and only cost like ~$160.00
Isnt mounting spacers kinda like the halfa$$ way to do a lift? I thought about that but Im the type of person that would like to do the lift the right way the first time... I dont know much about spacers and correct me if im wrong but I thought I heard of problems with performance that way.. no?

No spacers are not "halfa$$" it does the same purpose of suspension lifts it just is a cheaper way to do it. Every person i have talked to said there ride is better than stock and so is mine. I have the Daystar 2.5/1.5 and it is one of the best decision i have ever done, cheap, good looking lift, bigger tires,better ride. What more could you ask for? I mean if you want to throw out $800 for OME and then another $300-$500 for installation if you dont install it yourself. Or you could always get a Toytec Ultimate 3" lift for $1100. Now granted i am going to get the OME lift, the Daystar is a quick cheap way to lift your 4R up without paying a load of money up front, and if you decide to upgrade your suspension you can always put your Daystar lift in the classifieds section and it will sell FAST! Spacers will work just fine, it also depends on what you plan on using the lift for. i.e. functionality, aesthetics, off-roading, mud, sand, hills, trail riding, etc.
If you search, there are hundreds of threads that discuss the different lift options and what is good for the various applications.
Also, read the sticky at the top of this main 4th gen page, it has all wheel/tire/lift combos and what will work where....very helpful!!

There's your answer. If you want a 100% bolt on and go, stick with 265/65/18. Move the liner forward, you can fit the 275/65/18. There's no kit needed, nor a gap left behind. Look near the bottom of this page, it details what is required for moving the liner.

Hey man.. I was looking into this further and noticed that this one guy had to CUT his body mount.. And it looked as if he had a lift.. I'm just making sure that theres no cutting involved ( just fender liner moving) if I were to get 275/65/18 instead of my stock 265/60/18... I'm just dreading the thought of buying them and having to mount, balance, alignment.. And then have to return them b/c I'm getting too much rub.. Ya know?

2. Your not going to need a "kit" for fender liners, (The only time you need to make them re fit is if you get a body lift, Suspension lift <B>no</b>
3. 275's like ark said will work just fine with the daystar
Other: just for S&G:smashputer: I gotta disagree about how you can get a better "ride" out of a spacer lift, as all it will do is improve ground clearance, The shocks are the same as previous...(maybe has something to do with new shock extension?) more or less pure placebo IMO :driving::cheers:

I had worn 265/65/18 Dueler A/Ts on my truck with no lift. They rubbed a little at full lock but still driveable. A new A/T tire will also work, just more rubbing. I'm sure the 275s will work, but I would recommend spacers to they clear your UCAs (depending on the tires) but then you will definitely need to do some trimming.
If you want to go even bigger in the future, just wait until you can get the lift and bigger tires at the same time. Do it right the first time!
