I ran without sway bars for a while and it's fine if you know what to expect... It was too unstable when I had passengers especially at freeway speeds... I ended up putting them back on

I have my rear sway bar in place. My front is removed.
I thought the front one was the more important one to keep connected (?). I didn't have a choice. The endlinks and 1 bracket were ruined when I bought it.

I'm always surprised by this topic.

Those of you who removed it ... Did you test it?

No one notices "that much" until they need it to save their or their family's lives.

There is a YouTube video of a 3rd gen doing a complete rollover on a track avoiding cones at high speed. And that 4Runner probably (since it was consumer reports or similar) had its sway bars installed.

The OP of this thread asked "do you remove it for daily driving" - that is why I brought this up.

No front because i dont need it, the Digressive valving of the Icons along with 750lb coilover springs keeps the front level and tight.

I do keep the rear hooked all the time, I tried it for a couple days disco'd and it scared the shit out of me.

I daily drive mine 40+miles on the highway and around town.

So I just put icons in front, and one of my links was broken when I bought it, but can I remove the front while leaving the rear?

Sure, you can do whatever you want. lol

But seriously, try it out and judge for yourself. I like how mine drives on the pavement and offroad with the rear on but front off.

Took both of mine off years ago, it's been fine even with a 3" suspension and 2" body lift. It will lift a front tire off the ground if you corner hard though.

I removed mine for a week or so and got tired of the sloppy handling and put it back on. I did occasionally disconnect it for wheeling though.

No front bar equalled a lot of body roll. I got longer links for the front and completely removed the rear. I drive it everyday, and I cannot tell the difference. It's very stable, it never feels dangerous at all. I carry my wife and 3 kids without any hesitation.

Yep. Here is the video!

pretty scary actually..

People freak the frig out. I used to dd mine with both removed. Sure there was body roll, but I never once got physically close to tipping over. Because of the terribly rough ride, i put my front back on and still drive without the rear. Completely fine. If someone says they roll because they didn't have sway bars, your plain stupid and shouldn't have been driving the way you were. Realistically dd 'ing with just a front is fine. I love it. The flex is all in the rear anyway, so more the marrier.

Yeah basically this x2. It's a truck, not a track car. I haven't really noticed any difference since the rear sway bar was removed. Just slightly more body roll.

I removed the rear sway bar after I put the stiffer 906 coils on. I can tell ZERO difference with these coils. However if I had stock coils or softer lift springs I would run it. Now the front sway bar is entirely different, super tippy without that one!

No sway bars at all. Stiffer front coilovers and properly valved rear ICON's made a big difference in handling. That and i got used to it after a while.

I ride with the rear removed and the front installed. I have the FJ Superflex coils in the rear so I have a little body roll in the back, but I concur with the previous posters about driving; If you don't fly through turns, you'll be alright. Keep a safe distance from all drivers(1 car length = every 10 mph) and know your limitations for speed and turning. It's a little to get use to but it's doable.

Now if I were 5 years younger, I would keep my rear sway on, because God knows id be on my side more than my rubber.

I removed both of mine when installing the lift and the links broke so I don't have a comparison after being stock vs lifted but I found it more fun to drive since I had to pay more attention but I got used to it quickly. I just take turns a bit slower and don't have any problems or feel like I'm gonna roll. I've been completely sideways in the snow and it felt fine.
