Has anybody here had experience with Poorboy's detailing products?

Yup, their products are very good! I detailed my 4R about a month ago using a few of the products (click the link in my sig to see pictures).

To be honest I just bought the Zaino system, ZFX, Z2, Z5, Z6, Z7, clay bars and applicators. I was impressed by what other T4R owners had to say about the results when properly applied. Then I looked at some photos on the Zaino website and was amazed.

Now, where I live it's been hot and very humid lately and I have to do the detailing in my driveway outdoors. It's too hot and humid to use the Zaino.

Then I noticed on another forum that lots of people are using Poorboy's. And Poorboy's says it's OK to use it in the sun. But is it OK to use it when the surface is hot?

I think I was looking at Professional Polish and EX or EXP.

BTW-Your rig looks beautiful. Real nice color and nice detail. Good job!

You can use Zaino in the sun. If anything, it helps with the drying time. I haven't had a problem with Zaino in the sun, as long as you apply a thin coat and wait for it to dry, you'll be fine. I still love the Zaino products (hence the reason I use it on my T4R), but I just had to try something new.

The Professional Polish is a very nice product. I used it to polish all the light housings, side mirrors (I have the black plastic kind), my exhaust tip and my black roof rack and it works very well. It's pretty much safe on anything. I haven't tried it on my paint though.

I barely used the EX and EX-P yesterday. So far, I'm impressed. I applied EX to half the trunk of our Corolla (silver) and EX-P to the other side and didn't notice too much difference in appearance, so I just used EX on the whole car. It went on easy and came off easy and looks pretty good. I hear that durability isn't as good as Zaino though and that EX-P is a better choice for durability.

I polished it with PB's SSR2.5 and finished up with EX.

Zaino has more clarity and shine and is great at bringing out the metallic flakes in the paint. The Poorboy's products have more depth and make the paint look "wetter". I'd give the edge to Zaino on light colors and Poorboy's on dark colors, although just slightly. But since you've got Zaino already, you really can't go wrong with it.

The Corolla is actually my mom's car (she couldn't see out the back of a Camry V6 or Avalon). I've been driving it quite a bit since I'm trying to "rack up" the miles on it. It's over 5 years old and has a little over 35k miles and my 4R already has 20k miles. It's a great commuter car (over 30mpg) and is relatively comfortable, very quiet and has a smooth ride. It even came with automatic headlights. Power is ok, not bad for a compact car, but you can feel the difference when coming out of the 4R.
