Popping and Vibrations???

When was the last time you had your wheels balanced and/or rotated? Feeling vibration around that 45mph mark may be balance or tire wear related as well. That wouldn't include noise however, so it's a bit of a longer shot.

by the time we are done he will have a new suspension, wheels, tires or maybe just trade it in on a 2015 lol

Take the wheels off again and make sure there is nothing wrong with the spacers or factory studs. This means removing the wheel spacers, cleaning the threads, and inspecting them of course. Pay particular attention to the threads of the factory wheel studs. Reapply loctite and re torque. If anything, you should be doing this as maintenance of those spacers anyway.

Ok, so I located the noise. I jacked up the back end, placed it in drive and immediately heard the popping and creaking. I crawled underneath (safely) and it sounds as if it's coming from the center of my drive shaft. There's nothing touch it or wrapped around it. I pumped fresh grease into the u-joints, so I know that's good.

It only happened when it was in drive though. I put it in neutral and spun it by hand and nothing occurred. I put my ear next to the gear box and rear end and it's not coming from either one.

Have you heard of this?

That noise in the video is a Chevy specific problem with their aluminum driveshafts, had cracking issues and issues with welding slag coming loose and rolling around in the shaft, I believe they starting filling the shafts with foam to stop the noise, Toyota doesn't use aluminum and I haven't heard that kind of sound on a toyota shaft before.

Are you sure nothing on the rear internal parking brake shoes have not come apart or full of mud etc?

Well, that's the noise I'm hearing. It's 95% identical. No, I haven't been in mud in a while. I'll have to check the rear brakes again, although I put my ear fairly close to the drive shaft and could tell it was coming from it.
 
Reading through this thread almost everything made me think wheel bearing until you posted the video with the drive shaft noise. Easiest way to check your wheel bearings is to jack it up, put one hand on the top of the tire and one on the bottom then see if there's any play. Doing the same thing but with your hands on either side of the tire would tell you if you have a loose tie rod.

ah yes, u-joint failure! such a pain. I used to wheel my Jeep XJ with two u-joints in the glove-box just anticipating breaking one in my small D30 axle.
 
sad thing is I am more impressed with the photo quality of the part than the fact you found out what it was lol
 
Dang, how did I miss this thread? Based on your first post, I would've suggested drive shaft/u-joint after living with a 95 Land Cruiser!

Ya man! It started out as a small creaking and popping noise, which turned into an almost constant popping. At first I thought it was a bad CV.
