Purchase price and cost of ownership

Other than the purchase price, these are not too expensive to own... until the warranty expires. Try replacing the water pump, a brake caliper, the cat's, a bearing or anything else that occasionally goes out on any car. If it's anything like our 6 cylinder Audi A4 the repairs will eat your wallet for lunch. After a half dozen $1200 repairs, we finally sold that car.

I am amazed at how cheap those things are a few years old. I saw some on CL this week for less than $10,000. Seems like they drop in value pretty hard 5+ years down the road.

I am searching for a truck for my daughter so I have seen a few lately sub 10 grand with less than 100,000 miles on them. I guess I always thought they cost more.

It does look amazing, congrats and enjoy. :bravo:

We owned an '04 Cayenne a few years ago. Had a $3500 problem right before the warranty expired. To me, that was a sign to unload it. Went to an '11 MDX, then a '14.

If to want a reliable Porsche, get an air cooled 911.

I sold my 2014-Porsche Cayenne GTS for a 2106 Toyota TRD-PRO and couldnt be happier!! Yes they do depreciate like crazy. I didnt like the fact that you couldnt go off road in the cayenne.

How do I gain access to this upside down time machine?

Actually, the Cayenne does handle things off road quite nicely provided you have the right tires. Nowhere near as good as the 4Runner because of clearance issues, but they will surprise you with capabilities off road.

The wife can drive her 2014 4Runner Limited all day, but I just cannot get over the lack of power. The peak power output is almost at the top of the rpm curve. I'd find it difficult to let go of the power output of the Porsche Cayenne for the timid power output of the 4Runner.

I guess I just like the idea of having sheer power on tap when you need it. The 4Runner could use another 40-50 HP and a comparable torque increase...but hey, that's just my honest opinion.

Yep. You can buy them all day here for under $10k for a pretty nice used one. I've considered one as an alternative to another rx350. They're half the price for a 5yr old used one compared to a 5yr old rx350. Not sure they're bad cars. Possibly owners of that model just want new ones? I never think of Porsche as a bargain basement car, but seriously -where else can you get 450hp for $10k?

Biggest downside is the interiors look like 1980's retro.

Beautiful car, congrats!

I have considered one of these as well... Just can't do it tho. Practicality. We are about to replace the wife's RDX... Thought really hard about a Q7. Owners seem to really like them... But once again, just don't think I can do it. Will most likely pull the trigger on a "loaner fleet" slightly used MDX. Best bang for buck and super reliable. Just doesn't have the soul-stirring of the Q7 S-Line. Ah well, is what it is.

So long from the 4Runner crowd... Good luck with 'ze Germans...

These wheels and tires are too slim imo... Did you go on a diet ?

Good luck with the Porsche.

Dude, leave it in sport mode at 3 and kick the gas pedal you will get your torque/power lol.

But I agree it seems like a lazy ass until you get to 4k plus rpm .....

Really!?? This thing puts the Toyota interior to shame, even my mothers 2015 limited. The leather seats are ten times the quality.
