So I just replaced the 3.4 in my 99..
I started her up and she was pouring out white smoke. I purchased the engine at a tow/wrecker (probably a mistake, as he was quite shady) and it has a 30-day warranty but it's just a big hassle pulling the engine again and I'm starting grad school in two weeks...
So what I'm asking is if anyone has suffered a bad hg on their motor and replaced it, did you have any residual white smoke afterward the replacement motor/HG?
I let her get get to operating temp and she was still billowing smoke
I could do a leakdown but I'm afraid my HF leakdown tester may be faulty and give me inaccurate readings. (And It's a pain in the ass with how the intake manifold is positioned.)
