I have access to a V6 & Trans. from a '95 4Runner and am curious as to what I may run into, problem wise, if I swap the V6 with my 22RE out of my '85 4Runner'85? Is this worth the hassle or just a bad idea all together? What am I up against? I love the '85 just need a little more power.? Any input is helpful. Thanks.

My personal opinion would be to keep the 22re and do some work to it. You can buy a high flow head and there are multiple different cams on the market to add power as well. I have driven 22re pickups 4x4 with the high flow head and cam, I would say the power is comparable to what the v6 would bring you except you have the reliability of the 22re.
