This is about as stealth and space saving as it gets, not much bass though, I'm gonna have to upgrade a bit.

OHP-- I'm not actually sure yet. That's is one of the things holding me up (that and lack of time to mess with it).

I know one side will be bolted to the tie down hook, I'm thinking the other will probably go into one of the holes in the little mini cargo pocket on top of the wheel well.

Minimal room taken up, could even get better with a shallower sub. I can't remember who but a company was making fiberglassed formed molds like this for sale.

Customized stock JBL enclosure in a non-JBL SR5 4Runner

This is another option for using the stock enclosure.

I was looking for something to fill in the bottom end in a quality way without giving up any cargo space. I'm driving this with 2 of the 4 channels of an amp that drives the rear speakers and the sub. it gets a little more than 300 w RMS with this set up and that works really well.

My rear view mirror gets blurry at times; that's enough for me.



Construction Details: I had to remove a fair bit of the bracing on the inside wall of the enclosure behind the speaker. no biggie; then a made a 1/2" ring to mount between the speaker and the enclosure. I Dynamatted the living s**t out of the outside of the enclosure as well as the entire space that is associated with it. I used a clear caulking to fill in every nook and cranny and seam on the inside of the stock body panel that covers the enclosure. In the end, it looks totally stock, I get great low end and nary a rattle (except my mirror)
