Just picked it up July 1~

My 4runner and I are really close

I mean, I don't think you can get much closer than this.

I was doing some timing chain work over the weekend and my wife snapped a few pictures.

To get a picture like this you need to:
Remove the crossover pipes for the intake
Remove the rad and fan.
Remove the power steering pump
Remove the alternator
Remove the AC compressor.
Remove the crankshaft pulley.
Remove the valve cover.
Remove the distributor (to gain access to one stinkin bolt)
Remove the timing chain cover.

Then all you have to do is shimmy up into the engine compartment so that your nose is almost touching the engine block.

The pictures were my wife's idea. I had to fix up the timing chain. Long story.

I can say I think with the V6 I would not be able to pull that off in my truck. but next year I am going to swap to the 3.4L and Maybe I can start a new thread "post your mug in your engine bay"

Ah well one more picture shouldn't hurt. It helps you see the "Big picture" of what was going on. pun intended. Besides I keep my pictures pretty small.

I don't know if anyone is still posting but here is just me...i'll get one with my truck eventually.

Spokane, WA huh?? I got my undergraduate degree from Eastern Washington University. That is a god-aweful part of the country...well sometimes nice in the summer!
