i don't know, I guessed i saved some money from buying anew antenna mast for my 4runner. It happened that I was in junkyard to get some parts for my other car then realized I need to replaced my power antenna for my 4runner so i decided to buy to pull one (pick your part) and got one exactly matched the one I have. Since I can't pull out the cord going thru the fender unto the radio, i just cut the cord and just retrieved the power antenna motor body.
Back home, I used a regulated 12v DC power supply to power the motor antenna, I removed the retaining nut on top of the antenna, tuned the switch on, while the motor is running, i pulled out the whole plastic strip without difficulty. Then i used the same plastic strip to my antenna in the car. I just have somebody to helped me to torn the ignition to ACC and to turn on the radio, when i realized the motor is functioning on my old antenna, i asked my assistant to turn off the radio, then I inserted the plastic strip i got from the junkyard and "BINGO", got my antenna fixed. i did this one time only 'coz i know which way the teeth of the plastic strip goes. In my car, the feed is facing the windshield. hope this help.
