Power loss to seats and 3 windows in 2000 Ltd.

I have a 2000 4R Limited. It has not been alterered.

I have a power problem with both front seats, both front windows, and the rear hatch window. Power to those five items became intermittent...would work in the morning but by mid afternoon was dead. Either they all worked, or they all were unresponsive. Problem got worse over the course of three months, meaning they worked less and less, and finally could get no response at all from those five motors.

I cannot find the common circuit or junction for power to these motors. Don't believe it's switches or motors because those five switches are distinctly separated, and all five motors worked or failed simultaneously. I've been through all the fuses several times.

Can anyone please direct me to a splice or relay that is the likely culprit?

Could you get the back window down by using the key in the cylinder?

Sounds like a relay, where there is no contact due to heat. But electrical problems can be nothing short of nightmarish to fix.

Thanks for asking. No...can't operate the rear window with a key either. If it is the relay, (and it probably is), do you have any idea which one it is and where to find it?

Might be a fuse under the hood... i'm thinking MXP??? (or some similar name).
Just take out every fuse under the hood and under the dash and check. there are lots. Use the little tool in the engine bay to make it easy.

The only relay in the circuit is the PWR relay, which is on the back of the fuse panel by the driver's knee, at top right. The rest of the switching is handled by the Body ICU. I would first check that relay (you can probably swap it with something else.) Also double check the POWER fuse in the engine room and the ECU-IG in the cabin fuse panel by the driver's knee. Those are the only ones in play.

Then I would pull that master switch in the driver's door and get out my handy DMM. Windows need both 12V+ and ground. Then it will go up or down. Reverse 12V+ and ground and it goes the opposite way. So from the master switch, you can tell which one is missing. Make absolutely sure the child protection switch is a) in the right position, and b) working. The Wiring manual gives a bunch of voltages to check on page 116. You need 12V+ on the blue and on the blue/red wires and ground on the black/white wires to that master switch. Find which one is missing and you are well on your way. If all three are there, the problem IS your master switch.
