Power Steering Leak...lower return line

Difficulties in changing:

3) Working the new line into position. I eventually won by feeding the line from the front and working up from the ground, then twisting it as needed to feed it through. The lines/cords on the other side will get in the way a bit which is where another set of eyes/hands from the top helps. I tried forever to feed it directly from the front inside the bumper and got nowhere.

Good luck, friends.

Any advice on technique? I took off the front driver's wheel to get access through the well, but it didn't help all that much. I got the two bolts out of the frame rail and the hoses disconnected from both the rack and the cooling line (in front of the radiator), but for the life of me I cannot figure how to fish the assembly out of the car.

And I'm really dreading the process of trying to get the new one into place.

I've got a v6 and replaced the pair of lines at the same time. I swear it was actually pretty easy with the skidplate removed. Undid the rack connections with an open end style flare wrench or box wrench, I have both and have a vague memory of using the ratcheting box wrench to do 3/4 of the work and the flare wrench only when it was tight.

Once the lines and support brackets were loose at both ends it just dropped out the bottom and the new pair went in from below. Loosely attached the pump connection to help support it and swung the lower part up and in.

All of this was with the wheels attached and the truck on the ground, though I am lifted 2" so laying under the bumper and reaching up is pretty simple.
