Hey everyone! I am back on the forum. I sold my old 4Runner a few years ago and regretted it ever since. Just got a new one a few months ago, have a build thread I am about to post after I get done at the fab shop this weekend.
As for now, I need help on a window issue.....
I have a 98 SR5 with power options. My drivers and pass front windows wouldnt go down and my switch was broken. The previous owner broke the two front buttons and they wouldn't go up or down from the drivers side or the passenger side.
I got a used switch from a junk yard and it allowed my passenger window to go down, but not the drivers window. The pass window works perfect now.
I got second switch, and same thing. Front pass would work from both sides, but not the drivers. So I got another one, and same issue.
This makes 3 switches I have tried when fixing it.
I pulled my door apart, tested the circuits from the motor and from the switch, and both tested fine. I then tested the wiring in between the two, from the plug, and perfect.
So I got a battery, hooked up jumpers and BOOM! Window went down, I reversed polarity, window went up.
So to me, I have tested all wiring, all circuits, plugs, and the motor itself, and its all good.
What can it be?!!??!?! haha I am going crazy. Perhaps all the switches I have tried were bad?? Im at a loss.
Can anyone help?
