power window switches, lights?

I have a question for those with a 2005 V8 sport edition (or similar).

Are there really no lights on any of the controls on the doors? The only light I have is on the driver side--the Auto button light flashes. That is it. Is that how it is supposed to be?

You'd think that when you spend that kind of money on a truck, you should be able to find the unlock button in the dark! Even my old Escort had this lit up.

Does your "auto" flash? If not, I wonder why mind does.

It's a Toyota thing, none of the Toyotas in my family have them lit up. I was sad to see most American cars have all the window switches lit up on all the doors when mine didn't.

My AUTO doesn't flash, I don't think it's supposed to?

Yeah, I was disappointed as well when I learned that they didn't all lit up at night (with lights on).

My '99 Alero had them lit up at night...Japanese vehicles aren't known for high content for the money.

Anyway, my AUTO switch lights up, but it doesn't flash.

There is a light on front drivers side door switch toggle. I have a 2003 4runner v6 SR5. The light is only on the drivers window toggle. These lights go out FAR sooner than any other light in the dash, including the famous climate control lights that go out. The window toggle lights are not replaceable and most aftermarket toggles do not have lights in them at all. Only OEM toggles will have a light for the drivers window switch ONLY. The other toggles don't light up. They just have a white stripe or something on them. Open up your power door switch assembly and you'll see a green looking light bulb that's soldered in place. You can in theory replace it if you find the correct led or incandescent light at Microcenter or some other computer store. I imagine its probably 1.5 volts or something really low and you can solder it back in place after carefully clipping the other bulb out, leaving the stems. Which side is + and - is a mystery and if you get it wrong it wont light up or itll burn out so you might want to buy a few.
