How much would you charge for one of those sub boxes?

The JL Stealthbox is ~$750. I have no idea what it would cost to have a shop do what I'm planning. I'm sure the pros could do it much faster, but I'm just enjoying the project and taking my time because I want it to be a very close fit and look as OEM as possible.

I built one for my corolla its a little smaller about 1cubic foot but it cost around $100 to make the box in supplies and a weekend to actually do it. Mine doesn't look nearly this nice but its easy to do if you have time.

Finished the sub build. Sounds excellent and turned out looking very good. The vinyl is almost a dead match on color. I'll take a daytime photo tomorrow. :rockon:

I must ask about the tires. Is the 1" spacer in the front enough to clear the tires without any rubbing? I really want to run BFG ATs but I have a Limited with the 18" wheels and I have 0 options for tires. If you can clear 265/70/17 with a spacer then I should be able to clear a 265/65/18 with a spacer. :bluejump:

They do rub a bit in the front at full lock but modifying the mud flaps and moving the front liners forward helped a lot.

Finished the new tablet trim piece. Just need to find a spraypaint one shade darker to match the satin black HVAC controls. Also finished the white LED gauge swap so everything matches.

Tablet is a Samsung S 8.4" with the Super AMOLED® 1600 x 2560 display. It's bright enough to be fully visible in direct sunlight which is perfect for the dash. Audio connection is via bluetooth to the new pioneer head unit hidden behind, so music automatically starts and stops with ignition. Still working on how to hardwire the power...

I've thought about doing this in the near future, nice to know what size fits.

I just wish I know someone who programmed Android... I'd like to set a tablet up like this and use it to control a Media interface (like a better Entune) and manage remote functions for a HAM set-up all through the tablet.

The mount is just a block of wood with double stick tape wrapped in felt so that it can be wedged into the double din slot. It's tight enough to keep from moving during driving but can slide in and out if I give it a firm pull. The bezel fits tightly and snaps onto the tablet like a phone case.

The next version will be a row of magnets that will both hold and be the USB connections. Like a 6" long Macbook "Magsafe" connector.
