I have! I will eventually get a set, but I bought the 4runner with brand spanking new H/T tires on it about 6,000 miles ago... And actually I was quite surprised with how well they did in the snow (Dunlop GrandTreks). Biggest concern I have is sidewall integrity if I was to take it on some rocky terrain.
 
I'm surprised no one has mentioned a full interior swap to LEDs. This is a pretty cheap mod and you get much better light output from these than the standard bulbs...not to mention that they reduce consumption by more than 50% over standard bulbs. You can choose from warm to cool. I chose to go with the neutral white. I got mine from superbrightleds.com and v-leds.com based on JAs write up (actually, he has done a ton of very useful mods to his 4Runner and his writeups are superb).

I started with the license plate and running boards, moved to the map lights and doors, and I recently got the middle and rear cargo lights swapped. Now I just have the glove box left and I think i'll be fully converted :)

You could go with the afe intake as well. they made the trd intake and I know you can buy it cheaper than what trd charges. or you can do what I did and buy a grounding kit. I bought it a while ago and really improve power and mpg. Carson Toyota TRD Parts, Replacement parts and accessories for Southern California

I completely forgot about a grounding kit. I did this on my old Scion tC and did actually notice that idle was a lot smoother. Could you take a picture of where all of the wires are running or post the instructions that came with the kit? I would like to do this, but I want to use my own wire and am curious what their recommended grounding points are.
 
I'm with zstampe on this, go with the HID's. I paid a little more and got the Xenon Depot 4300k's because they were plug and play and were a very easy install. I put them in yesterday and I'm very happy with the results. As mentioned before, they work very well in the projector headlight.

I just grounded mine to the frame. I should have made a post! It was really very easy and I loved the bang for the buck. I try to build a post on how to do this. how was the tc? was it as fun as they say it was? :ybrick:

The jury's still out on this one for me because I think the factory lights are pretty good. Did you upgrade your low beams, high beams, and fog lights?

I like this idea! Those are some good looking pictures and the install looks pretty easy. And that link you provided is an AWESOME write-up! I'll put this on the to-do list, I think.

I have pics of the hids if you wanna see them or we could do a joco meet before you move with the olathe fire guy and you guys could check them out in person! Best mod so far (the only other mod is tint so far) i've only had my t4r about a month.

Oh and the DDMtuning kit was plug and play and also came with a one year warranty.

There are 2 different kits, one with a lifetime and one with a one year warranty. I went with the one year warranty kit, at the price of silverstars if the kit lasts only a year i'll be happy, i was replacing those crappy bulbs every couple of months.

I just upgraded the low beams. I already had Silverstars in the fog and high beams, so I didn't spend the extra to do the fogs. I'm sure I'll eventually upgrade the fogs, but there are some other mods I'd like to do first. I'm looking into adding LED's on the interior, tranny cooler (since I have a V6 and tow my boat all summer), and maybe a color-keyed Limited style grill instead of the chrome one.
 
you could change out the h11 for h9 bulbs, use hirs for the highs, do the footwell mod, get leds for the domes

Did you notice a big difference between the Silverstars and the HIDs?

I can definitely tell a difference in the light that the HID's put out compared to the Silverstars. I didn't have an exact apples to apples comparison because I have the silverstars in my fogs and high beams and up until I switched the low beams to HID's, they were just stock. I'll try to snap a pic tonight of the HID's with the Silverstar fog lights so you can see.
 
I was able to snap a pic tonight in my garage of the HID low beams with my Silverstar fogs to show the difference in the light output. It's a huge difference if you ask me. And to think, I used to think the Silverstars had a white color to them.
