Prayers answered - my uncle was in a pretty bad accident

My Uncle was t-boned by one of those full size Chevy pickups with a dump bed, plow, & full of sand in March during a snowstorm...mom just sent me some pictures and imagine my surprise to see what "SUV" everyone had mentioned he was in. I don't see most of The Family in MN anymore so I had no idea what he drove...I assumed a Suburban for some reason.

I've followed his progress via posts by my cousin via Caring Bridge and give thanks to the doctors that pulled him through this....the injury list was/is a long one as you might imagine. He's doing much better these days but spent most of the past 3 months in the ICU. A few days ago he pronounced well enough to be transferred to another hospital for physical rehab.

Just to get it out of the way, I'll say it for everyone else....dang, sport hood too.

It's unclear to me if a plow was on the truck too...I assume it was.

In all seriousness, its amazing how well these 4Runners protect us. This is at least the 5th or 6th one I've seen with incredible damage, and yet the driver survived. My cousin was in a single vehicle crash in his X-Terra, slid into a tree. Didn't look that bad, but he ended up with catastrophic brain injuries...never be the same. Glad your uncle survived and will eventually be back to 100%.

Thats some serious shit right there. I dont think the plow was on it though because you would see a lot if yellow red or white from the plow transfered to the runner and there none. That chrome bumper did it all.

Glad to hear that he is okay! Another reminder to wear your seat belt! I for years never wore my seat belt until I read the story of another member who had a horrible accident such as this but survived b/c of his runner and the belt. I don't go a drive without it now.
