all valid points... but i was going to say the same thing. TW GB did the same GB with the same company for same product. Would be interesting to see how they currently sit with their tents now that it is a year since it took place.
From what I understand they are happy.
I suppose this group buy isn't for everybody.
This, however, is the least expensive RTT I have ever seen for a quality made tent (As per reports from TW GB and that they have produced for name brand companies before).
The trade off is being unbranded and less warranty support.
Some would feel more comfortable with paying extra for extra support.
For others to save the most amount of money they would be willing to take some risk.

I think the risk is minimal. This company is looking to sell direct in bulk, it is what they do. You can likely get parts etc form these companies if needed (how do you think the name brand companies offer support and parts when they get their product from the same factories) it would just likely be a much longer process with more PITA factor.

Glad we agree. Only point you missed. I have two friends who were on the last group buy. I have seen the tents in person. They love 'em with no bad things to say or any issues. We compared a $1500 ARB side by side and that friend is pissed he spent twice as much with ARB.

The only thing they've mentioned, which is common across all RTT (even ARB) is the condensation that can build up and makes the mattress damp. I haven't experienced this myself (because I don't own a RTT) but have heard from them that it's annoying. Basically to resolve this CVT sells a $75-100 plastic mat that helps the sleeping pad breath between the floor. Wincar offers this.

I should have prices for Tent + Annex + anti-condensation mat tomorrow. What I don't have is the port charges + customs + broker fees.

Hopefull will have good price estimate later this week.

Well Tepuit Tents are considered to be great and group but routinely get 15-20% off list (not really higher). That puts the Siberian Camp Tepui Tent at $960 + shipping or local pickup.

Warranty, support and more are covered.

I agree the ARB is crazy expensive but there are other great options out there for < $1000.

Your price does not include annex.
You cannot compare the $1200 CVT tent because it is both the wrong size and style. We are looking at the Mt. Ranier in size comparison which is $1900 after tax + shipping.
So essentially we are looking to save $800-900 and this includes shipping to final destination, more if people are picking up in California.

Edit: disregard some details, I have my head in CVT thoughts instead of Tepui. Same concept applies still

I think your group buy is a good thing, label or not its all the same s*** . made in china is the same made in china for name brand, theres not multiple wherehouses they all come from the same wherehouse.

Cant complain its not made in the usa since we all drive imports here...

And i dont care what manufacturer you deal with to claim parts, damage etc are mostly a pain or a run around.

Awesome! Can you ask them to recommend a Broker to me. I am getting quotes now. I want to have the broker handle all the paperwork and store in warehouse for 1-3 days while people pickup or we have commercial trucking shipper pickup and redistribute across the country. Those two pieces I'm unclear about.

Oh and is it just for one color one style?

The actual buyers will vote on a color-scheme between green/tan and combinations of both.

Ok I have the pricing on the China end. I do not have total pricing yet since I am still waiting on the import costs.

Based upon feedback so far it sounds like people are steered towards a larger tent. Please take some measurements of your bed at home for size comparison and determine what you really need.

The following prices include the Tent, Annex, thickest mattress they offer, and an anti-condensation mat that did not come in last GB.

RT05-2: 126"x55"x51", Sleeping Pad: 94"x55" (size equivalent Mt. Shasta) (Previous GB Size) - $520
RT05-3: 126"x65"x51", Sleeping Pad: 94"x65" (size equivalent unknown) - $592
RT05-4: 126"x71"x51", Sleeping Pad: 94"x71" (size equivalent Mt. Ranier) - $685

Preliminary totals look something like:
RT05-2 = ~$800 + final destination shipping ($100-250?)
RT05-3 = ~$900 + final destination shipping ($100-250?)
RT05-4 = ~$1000 + final destination shipping ($100-250?)

These numbers are conservative, hopefully by end of week I can much closer estimate. For now though, I just need people to let me know if they will want size #3 or size #4.

EDIT 8/24/2015: I didn't have #4 at this time of this post and the size increase was higher than I estimated. I estimated too low. Prices updated but do not reflect 320G fabric upgrade.

It's ~$500 more to ship to east coast. The rest of the costs stay the same. If we have > 75% of buyers on the east coast then it would make sense to ship to an east coast port and I will.

If I were you, to help save $50-100, I would try and find someone else in the Northeast to get shipped to same location convenient for both of you.

Shipping one tent to east coast I'm estimating $250, shipping two would probably be only $100 more. So $250 vs $175. Something like that.

I got one quote back from shipping from LA to Atlanta, GA and it was $185 for one tent and $150ea. for two tents. Just to put it in perspective for the east coast guys.

I'm making some good progress with two brokers based on recommendations from forum members. Thank you! We will have solid pricing no later than next week. I will work with Wincar to get quotes on the #4 size.

I'm about ready to get on the good side of the fence I feel like this is a great deal and with me living in Colorado I don't think the shipping would be terrible. Really waiting on the price final price of the tent we all go with. I guess my big concern now is if I go all in on one what else will I need to mount this to a factory roof rack with factory cross bars or is that even possible with the weight?
