I was originally in the market for a 4th gen, and was looking at spending around 15-18K on an-06-08 with under 60K miles. After driving a few, I decided that the interior was a bit too cramped for me. I drove a 5th gen two weeks ago and liked it MUCH better, but didn't think I could swing a 25K+ price.
I have since negotiated a 2010 SR5 w/ premium package to $22,500. Truck has 74k on the odometer. Per the Carfax, the truck has had oil changes like clockwork every 5K - at a Toyota dealership up to 30K, then an independent shop until recent trade in. One owner, and it is almost spotless. It only needs the small rear cushion cover on the inside drivers seat. The selling dealer (non-Toyota) put on new Bridgestones and performed an oil change & alignment. Rust underneath is surface only and extremely minimal & they are giving me a 30 day power-train warranty.
Do you T4R experts think this is a good deal? Is there anything else I should look out for? I have never bought a used car with over 50K on it, so that is the only unsettling thing about this. I don't think I have seen a 2010 with under 100K miles for under 24K since I started looking.
