Makita rocks

I have used Makita cordless for over 10 years and they take a lot of abuse. My first one was the old green version and now I have the one in the picture. It gets used and used and used.
It has a good balance and is not real heavy.

After I wear this one out or drop it enough to finally break it (it gets dropped a lot) I will buy another one.

Love it man! The wife bought me the set for our anniversary 2 or 3 years ago, drill, impact and light. The impact is prolly the best tool in the bunch, use it a lot more than I ever thought I would. Batteries charge in like 15 min. I highly recommend the set.

Coaxial cable and firestix adapter

I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what type of adapter I need. I am running the exact same setup, firestik II, coaxial cable with p1-259 adapters and the Comet RS-720 mount.

I guess I didn't read this thread close enough because I soon realized I had no way to connect the coaxial cable to the antenna. I would just go to a truck stop or a place that carries stuff for cb radios however I don't live in an area that they are very common. I was hoping someone could point me in the direction as to the adapter I need to purchase. I found this on amazon but I don't think it will work since the rs-720 adapter has a 5/8" hole and the adapter is for 1/2"?

Same, trying to find out the right spring/stud combo to fit my Comet RS-720 and Firestik II.

So I'm assuming the K-4A did not work judging by the picture. Is that the heavy spring or medium?

Edit: Do you think you may have accidentally purchased the RS-720NMO w/ a 3/4" diameter hole rather than the RS-720 w/ a 5/8" hole?

And did anyone ever come to a definite conclusion regarding whether or not the mount needed to be grounded in order to achieve a fair signal?

If you are having issues, give American Radio Supply a try. They were the ones that sorted out my mess of mounts and shipped me one with a 5/8th" diameter.

I tried sandwiching the stud to the 3/4th" with washers and that didn't work for me.

I am pretty sure that the mount has a fair ground because the metal makes contact with the body.

I got the 5/8 hold comet mount and mounted my antenna with a k4a firestik stud and I have had no problems. Theantennafarm guy tried to tell me it wouldn't work and I needed to buy another setup that was 3 times the price
